Care Rumer
Hi, I'm Care. I am a year 3B student at the University of Waterloo majoring in Environment, Resources and Sustainability and minoring in Gender and Social Justice. This term I am working in the co-op position as Student & Guest Services Support at St. Paul's University College. Additionally, I am a Residence Don at St Paul's University College. In 2019 graduated from Middle College at the College of San Mateo. This website is a continuation of the senior portfolio, a collection of some of the meaningful work I completed throughout high school and some of my more recent projects.

I am a hardworking student, major nerd, passionate activist and natural leader with a giant heart. I am passionate about sustainability, social justice and education. Starting at age 5 when I started martial arts, at least twice a week I pledged to live my life by the Principles of Black Belt: modesty, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. Though I left the sport with a third-degree black belt at age 14, these are the principles that continue to guide me as I move through life. I carried the leadership skills I learned in martial arts with me in school, as a gymnast, as a podcast producer, and as a person seeking to create meaningful change in her community.

I love cats, nature, art, books, and making people’s days.
